As well as DPAGB, I have EFIAP – Excellence of the Federation Internationale de l’Art Photographique, the International Federation of Photographic Art. To achieve this, a photographer must send images to ‘Salons’, across the world. That is, to international competitions. As with the PAGB awards, the images are scored by several judges. If the score is high enough, the image is ‘Accepted’, and becomes part of the Salon’s Exhibition.
To achieve EFIAP, I had to have 150 acceptances from at least 50 different works in 30 different salons from 15 different countries. Some of the images in these next few galleries have been accepted as far away as Hong Kong, India, Bulgaria, as well as most of the European countries, and the UK. This took more than two years, and gave me much satisfaction whenever I received an email to say that one or more of my photographs had been accepted.
Sometimes I was also awarded a medal, Bronze, Silver, occasionally Gold, for a picture considered to be worthy.
And I have BPE***, that is three star level in the British Photographic Exhibitions. The criteria are much the same for this, except that the salons are all based in Great Britain.
I have divided the pictures up into ‘genres’. All the images in my DPAGB Submission gallery have also been into many salons, so I am not repeating most of them here, just a few of my most successful.
I am putting 'Landscapes' first as that is one of my favourite subjects.
Salons often have a 'Photo Journalism' or 'Photo Travel' section, so I have a gallery for these, and one for 'Nature'.
I also enjoy ‘tinkering’, creating images more akin to art than to straight photography, so those are grouped together under ‘Creative’.
All salons have a section for Monochrome only images, so this is my final salon collection.
